The 25% most masjids leave behind
Gift Aid lets UK taxpayers boost their donation by a quarter — at no cost to themselves. On paper forms it's a chore that rarely gets done. On Masjidi it takes ten seconds.
What is Gift Aid?
£100 given.
£125 received.
When a UK taxpayer ticks the Gift Aid box, HMRC adds 25p for every £1 donated — reclaimed from tax the donor has already paid. The donor gives nothing extra; the masjid receives significantly more.
The catch has always been paperwork: valid declarations, accurate addresses, six years of record keeping, and claims filed in exactly the format HMRC requires. That is the part Masjidi automates end to end.

How Masjidi Handles It
From tick-box to HMRC claim
Digital declarations
Donors confirm their Gift Aid eligibility inside the donation flow itself — name, address, one tap. No paper form, no clipboard, no chasing signatures after Jumu'ah.
Addresses verified live
Postcodes and addresses are validated as the donor types, so your claim file isn't rejected by HMRC over a mistyped street name months later.
Records kept for you
Declarations are stored securely and encrypted for the full retention period HMRC requires — retrievable in seconds if your claim is ever reviewed.
One-minute claim export
When it's time to claim, export a schedule already formatted for HMRC's portal. Upload, submit, and the boost arrives in your masjid's account.

↑ 25% more, at no cost to the donor
Any donor who pays UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the amount all charities will reclaim on their donations in that tax year. The declaration in the Masjidi flow explains this before the donor confirms.
To claim Gift Aid, your masjid needs to be recognised by HMRC as a charity for tax purposes. Most UK masjids already are — and if yours isn't yet, we'll point you to the right process during onboarding.
Yes — provided the payment qualifies as a gift to the charity under HMRC's rules, Gift Aid can generally be claimed regardless of the donor's personal intention. Your masjid's scholars and trustees decide how funds are categorised; Masjidi keeps each fund's records separate either way.
